December done

December man is done and I am pleased with him. Think that he his a bit scottish with his tarten looking kilt. Unfortunately he could not have his sharks flag in his hand. I enjoyed working this young man and unfortunately he did not quite work out as the skier that i wanted.

Oh, I'm surprised... she, with stars on her shoes and a turquoise necklace, became a he! Either way, to me it seems like a child, innocent and happy, bundled up and out in the snow! As we age, snow and weather in general can become a burden, this piece reminds me of the child I was, growing up in California, and the wonder and delight I felt at the first snows I can remember. Thanks for that fun memory! Robin A.

Yes, I was surprised that she became he but them as I was doing the couching around the face he kept saying I am the christmas man and for christmas past, my dad paid for our family to travel to San Francisco so as he is very proud of his scottish heritage the man just kept coming out. Certainly was a surprise to me and then I think of Mel Gibson in that scottish film and think of this little man with his decorated body could be celebrating the festive time.

It's very satisfying when I allow my work to morph as it pleases into whatever seems to need/want to come forward in my life. It's great you let that happen with this piece... Mel Gibson, eh? Wow!
